Amy Harper is our resident American, though she hasn’t lived in the United States since 2015. Amy works as content manager, social media strategist, and in house photographer for The Xpat Agent.

Born in Eugene, Oregon, Amy grew up a university town in the western United States where her love for people, nature and cultures was cultivated with access to mountain hikes, art museums, and the Bombay House restaurant. Amy is infinitely curious.  

An old house lover, Amy and her family chose to buy a fixer-upper shortly after moving to the Netherlands. It is even a official monument! A bold move, but now she knows a lot about the rules and regulations in the Netherlands! With her firsthand expat experience she’s especially good at helping you decide what and where you want to buy in the Eindhoven area.  Amy loves helping other internationals feel at home in the Netherlands and sharing tips about the Eindhoven area.  

Amy and her husband Tom chose to fully integrate when they moved their family with four children to the Netherlands. The children were enrolled in Dutch schools, they and Amy earned their swim diplomas, and everyone learned to speak Dutch and to cycle. 

When Amy is not working at the Xpat Agent, she enjoys photographing weddings and events, exploring cities and nature monuments, and she loves volunteering as a photographer at the local animal shelter, RozEindhoven.
